You Shall Not Die, But Live

“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” Psalms 118:17

One evening my sister and friend called me up to share with me her praise report.  The doctor had told her that she does not have cancer. All I could do was drop the phone, run around the house, leap up and down, praise God, and cry.  We had prayed, we had believed God, and stood on the Word that you “shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord” and now, months later, those same words written by an amazing God and spoken in faith by His girls, caused my friend to live.  What a blessing it is when you see the awesome result of standing  on the Word of God until you see full manifestation of what you are believing for.  It felt like we had given birth, and we did.  There is such a great reward for those who grab hold of God’s promises by faith and don’t let it go until they see it in their life.  What produces that kind of determination?  What produces that type of fight and grit?  The Word of God does.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by The Word of God. Faith is not wanting.  Faith is not longing. Faith does not desire alone. There are many people who want to be healed and they still die.  Faith is aggressively taking and possessing. It is not passive at all, but is very determined.  When you know what God has promised you, it doesn’t matter how you feel, what you have heard, what you have seen, nothing else matters.  The only thing that you see is what God has said.

This is why it is important to have God’s Word in your heart.  God’s Word is a present help in the time of need.  Just when you need it, it will speak.  The Holy Spirit will bring back to your remembrance what He has said and what He has revealed to you.  God’s Word is able to keep you, even when you don’t want to be kept. It is able to fight for you when you have lost the strength to fight. It has the power to help you when you don’t know what to do.  I thank God for my friend and what God did for her, but I am mostly thankful that she held on by faith to God’s Word and His Word brought her through to victory, as it will you.

Prayer:  Father God, You are truly amazing.  Thank You for showing Your might and power to those who have the faith to believe and stand.  To those who don’t feel they have enough faith to believe for healing, I pray You increase their faith.  Help them see what You want them to see.  I declare they are determined to stand on Your promises until they see it come to pass.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
