You will receive double for your trouble!

Posted on Posted in devotions

“For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Isaiah 61:7

One thing you must know about God’s character and nature is He will never allow His children, whom He love, to go through the tests, the fire, and the valley and not experience His goodness in an outweighed measure in their life. Surely His goodness and mercy follows you all of the days of your life!

Just as Job received twice as much as he had before his calamity, it is God’s will that you also receive double for your trouble. Double for your shame and double for your confusion. When God turned the captivity of Zion, they were like them that dream! They were walking around saying, “Pinch me. God is blessing me in such a way that I feel like I am dreaming!” The nations around them said, “Surely they are the nation whom the Lord has blessed.” Those around you may have seen your shame, but they will witness God exalting you and blessing you.

God has a plan for all the pain you’ve endured and it involves you being greatly blessed in a way that glorifies Him in the earth!

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your word to me today! I receive the double for all the trouble and pain, I receive Your blessing and I receive Your immeasurable favor in my life. Be glorified! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Job 42:10; Psalms 126; Joshua 2:1; Isaiah 60; Psalms 23:6; Deuteronomy 8:18)

  1. Wow God is good . I can’t even imagine not having this app and daily devotional it is crazy how every day the devotional just seems to speak exactly to what is going on in my life . I have been in a horrible custody battle with my ex-husband over our twin daughters for the last 4 years in which He has tried to eliminate me in every area of our daughters lives; by gas lighting me, defaming my character, and telling our daughters that I never want wanted them. I get to see my twins maybe twice a month if he answers me . 4 years ago I was battling anorexia, postpartum depression, anxiety and abuse of my own prescription medicine. I put myself in rehab to get better to care for my daughters. My ex-husband was awarded temporary placement in which he assured me I would get back as soon as I returned home. But to my dismay he did not hold true to his word and has kept them from me and denied me and my oldest daughter our deserved times of placement. It has been the greatest struggle of my life in which the Lord has truly challenged me and tested my faith and trust in him. For so long everyone was against me in court , my ex-husband even had my parents turned against me at one point. I have clung to scripture and God’s promises to restore the years the locusts have stolen from me. Praying Faithfully every single day to fully believe and trust that he will make All Things New Again. As I’m still in this battle and fight for my children this is exactly the devotional I needed to read today! Double blessings to me is my twins. I may not have won the battle but I will win the war because God is my Vindicator. And if God is for me who can stand against amen

  2. I’ve been trough a lot lately, but yesterday I realized even in the middle of confusion He’s been guiding my life on the right path. And im thankful for that. Yesterday on Instagram I came across a picture saying : “God has some blessings coming your way that are going to cause you to froget who hurt you, forget what you lost, forget what wasn’t fair. You may have gotten a double dose of trouble, but a DOUBLE DOSE OF FAVOR IS COMING.” – Now I read todays devotional and I was like : God I can’t believe you’re still watching over me and never left me. AMEN
