“Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the LORD” (Psalm 27:11–14, KJV).
Life is filled with ups and downs, hills and valleys, but God has been and always will be faithful to you. He has a specific path especially for you, and He will lead you on it.
In this scripture, the cry of the heart is to ask the Lord to teach you His way, to instruct and direct the course of your life. He desires to lead you on a plain well-trodden path paved with faith and victory, so you must place yourself in a position to receive instruction from Him. In this world, you will have enemies and false accusers who rise against you, but trust in the Lord—He will deliver you from them all!
You must have faith. You must stay in faith, believing that you will see the goodness of God manifested in your life. Change your confession to reflect this truth. Say out loud, “I will see the goodness of God in my life.”
What do you do after the confession? Wait. Wait patiently on the Lord. One of the definitions of the word “wait” in the Hebrew means to bind together perhaps by twisting. It means you are to bind yourself to the Lord by twisting yourself with Him. Glory to God! Twisting yourself with Him keeps your connection powerful and strong.
Since you are bound to Him, it is easy for you to be of good courage. People will look upon you as you stand in the face of adversity and watch as the Lord delivers you from it all. So, wait on the Lord. Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. Receive His teaching, follow His leading, believe to see His goodness, and wait on Him! You will be glad you did.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus asking You to help strengthen my heart. I am asking You to teach me Your way. Teach me how to walk in the life You have for me. Thank You for delivering me from my enemies and false witnesses. I know I will not faint, because I believe that I will see Your goodness manifested in every area of my life. Since I believe this, I can wait on You, Lord, and be of good courage. Thank You for strengthening my heart. Amen.
