Your Life of Victory

“Thou art my portion O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words. I intreated thy favor with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.” Psalm 119:57-59 (KJV)

Living a life of victory is the will of God for every believer. He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness (1 Peter 1:3) and wants us to walk in them. A life of complete and absolute victory has already been purchased for you by the shed blood of Jesus. So, what happens when there are pockets in your life that do not reflect this truth? Well the truth is that although your life of victory has been paid for, it is not automatic. If it was, we would not need scriptures like, fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12), contend for the faith (Jude 1:3), He always causes you to triumph (2 Corinthians 2:14), you are more than a conquerors through Him (Romans 8:37) just to name a few. These scriptures would not be necessary unless there would be some things in life for you to triumph over. The great news is that everything you need is in the Word of God and you just have to dig it out, apply it to your life and give God the praise.

One very important truth is also not to put a time limit on God. He is Eternal, we live in time. His way is perfect (Psalm 18:30), therefore His timing is perfect. We must watch this area since it is one that the enemy of your soul likes to use to get you to speak against what you believe. He uses impatience to tempt you into taking matters in your own hands instead of trusting in God and waiting patiently for Him (Psalm 37:7).

Where to begin? Start with the situation, use a Bible search engine (there are plenty good ones out there) to search for your subject, use the scriptures to study God’s Word and create a prayer from them, commit them to memory, etc. As you do, when the situation comes up, the Word you have planted in your heart will rise up in your heart and mind. Determine to keep the words of the LORD. Think on your ways and in areas of your life that do not line up with the Word of God, make a change. How? By turning your feet and walking in a different direction following the Word of God. In times of weakness, seek the LORD and HE will strengthen you. Value waiting on the LORD. Place your hope, your earnest expectation, in the Word of God and live a life of VICTORY!!!!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you and say that You are my portion and I purpose to keep Your words. I thank You for being merciful to me according to thy word. I will think on my ways, my life and will change directions in areas that do not reflect Your word in my life. I thank You for helping to live a life of victory for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
