Jesus didn’t wait until after we got our lives together and consistently did everything right, before He came and died on the cross. He didn’t wait until we were sinless and worthy of Him. He died for us when our hearts were cold and dark, when our lives were a complete mess, and our minds were nowhere near pursuing Him. He died for us when all we wanted to do was please ourselves. Yet, He died and paid an awesome price for our sins, so that we could be forgiven and begin a new life in Him. Our sins didn’t stop His act of love then, and our sins can’t stop His act of love now. No matter how hard you may have fallen or how disappointed you may feel. No matter what you have done that makes you feel unworthy of His love, receive the forgiveness of Jesus. You may think that under a rock seems most deserving; don’t run and hide there! Run straight to God and tell Him, “Lord, forgive me! I messed up! I hurt You and I’m sorry! I receive Your forgiveness!” You’ll find that His love and peace will flood your heart in ways unimaginable. Nothing can separate you from the love of God–nothing (Romans 8:35-39). He loves you too much to just let you go! You are forgiven.
“Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share theportion which is the inheritance of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light.[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.” Colossians 1:12-14 (AMP)
You are so merciful! You didn’t have to send Your Son to die for me, but You did. I ask that You forgive me for any wrong I have done. I receive Your forgiveness, and I ask that You help me to forgive myself and move forward in Your strength and grace! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
