You’re Not the Same

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our suffering knowing that suffering produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” Romans 5:3, ESV.

Can you honestly say that you’re the same person after enduring that great trial in your life? Can you say that you still act and think the same after that trial? Of course you’re not. Do you know why? The scripture says that suffering produces character.

Character is defined as the moral and mental qualities distinctive to an individual. Sis, you’re not the same. Now you’re able to minister to others who dealt with the same thing. Now you react differently to such things. Now you know what to do if it comes around again. Now you have confidence that the Lord your God will bring you through it again. When we experience such things, God is trying to mold us into the person He intended for us to be. There’s a process we have to undergo, but trust God in that process. He’s producing something great within you! The final product is the mighty woman He called you to be! The final product is a daughter with an increase of faith in Christ!

Prayer: Father God, we thank you for the trials Lord because we know that it does not compare to the glory that is to come. We trust you in this process. Mold us, shape us, use us. We will not be the same after the suffering. We pray your will Lord. We pray your precious will. In Jesus name Amen.
